Future Generation’s Steel City project will bring new student accommodation to Sheffield's Hollis Croft district. One of the building’s essential features is the rooftop sky lounge designed for work and play — perfect for student living.
Client Future Generation
Type Student Accomodation
Duration 3 Weeks
We were brought in to produce a marketing experience for a student accommodation fair, as well as for overseas pitches. The VR model needed to showcase the sky lounge and a student bedroom.
We created a model of the space, fully realised with interior designs from mood boards provided by Future Generation, and complete with accurate views of the surrounding hills taken from on-site photography. Additionally, we provided hardware, set-up and support in the use of the Oculus Rift, which was new to the client.
Over three weeks we created an immersive and memorable VR experience, getting it to our client in time to be showcased at the Sheffield University Housing Fair. Our team was there on the day to help demonstrate the tour to prospective students.
The immediate feedback was invariably positive, with students keen to use the technology, giving Future Generation an edge over their competitors. The distinctive aesthetic of Future Generation and their partnership with Samsung were faithfully conveyed, and students were impressed with the development. We even went a little beyond the brief, adding in some playful interactive elements to add to the overall sense of immersion.
The fact that we had already modelled the space for VR meant that we could quickly and easily create a 360 web tour.
This meant that Future had a great online tool to showcase their development to potential students.
“I only have good things to say about the entire team at Revere. The work they produce is to a very high standard and they are more than happy to cater to their clients needs and deadlines. They understood our branding and vision with little guidance and were not only able to reproduce our model and designs but also offer further creative input. The VR model they produced is a great interactive tool that always impresses clients and customers.”
